TONIGHT we'll be interviewed on Q101 with Local 101's Chris Payne!
Tune in at 9:00PM to 101.1FM in Chicago or listen live online at Q101.com.
A quick shout-out:
Our listening party was a phenomenal success thanks to Dave, Kristine & Melissa of Late Bar, Katrine & her rollergirl waitresses, DJ Kenny Kicks & DJ Gary for sharing their glam night with us, August & Frankie at NoVo Arts, and ALL of our wonderful fans and friends who came out, drank bamboo shots and danced the night away with us. Being a Maybenaut kicks ASS these days!
But we're not even close to finished... THIS WEEK we have two big, big events where we'll play LIVE and rock your socks clean off and onto a fox:

RSVP and see who's already coming on Facebook!

February 11th @ the Abbey!
Missed us at Lincoln Hall? That's a shame, because it ROCKED!
But you've got another chance this week:

It's our anniversary show! The Maybenauts are one year old.
First anniversary gifts are traditionally paper in the US. Draw us a picture and get a special surprise at the show!
In the UK, first anniversary gifts are cotton. Because of this photo, we will also accept cotton balls and Q-tips as anniversary gifts!
According to Wikipedia, the "modern American" first anniversary gift is clocks. We will also be accepting clocks and photographs of Flava Flav as well.
Really, you'll get your surprise just for showing up, but we like to encourage our fans to be creative!
Maybefits tees are ready, too! They'll be for sale at the Abbey show, so if you didn't get yours presale (or if you did, and want to pick it up) come on out!

Eek!
Our Café Wha Who show (tonight!) has been canceled! Instead, we will celebrate Leilani's birthday in proper new wave goth dress up dance 'til dawn style and reschedule for another time (because we do love Café Wha Who).
Until then, our next show is a big one... January 28 at Lincoln Hall with Wanton Looks, Leslie Hunt, and Scotia Widows. Members of Scotia Widows and Wanton Looks played in The Breeders and KISS bands with us at Covers for Cover II! It's almost like a reunion! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Anyway... the show will be amazing and if you're not there, you kinda suck. Just sayin'.
Also, remember our awesome Maybefits t-shirts? We've already sold five in two days!! That means we're 20 away from printing! Yaaaaaaaay!
Here are some gratuitous images of things discussed in this blog:

This Saturday, January 9th we'll be playing at Cafe Wha Who! Show is at 10:00PM. Cafe Wha Who is a cool place in the downtownish area of Chicago - it's a liquor-infused coffee shop with a lofted art gallery upstairs! (We'll be playing up there!)
Later this month, on January 28th will be a BIG show and our return to the beautiful Lincoln Hall! This will also be your first opportunity to pre-buy our upcoming EP - complete with a code for an advance download of the MP3 version - you can be one of the very first to hear it!

Winter plans!
So originally, we were planning to take the holiday season off to recoup from a whirlwind year, write a few new tunes, and hop into the studio to record some of the new tracks like Girlfight and You Are Here and maybe even a little holiday surprise for you folks!
Well, that was until Miss Mia (of Chic-A-Go-Go fame) announced Covers for Cover II.
For those of you who have followed us since the beginning, you may remember the first glimmer of Maybenautism when we performed as Rah! Rah! Replica for Miss Mia's original Covers for Cover event. Headlining as a one-off Bikini Kill tribute band, we played to a packed house (sans Vee and + Emily's brother Mike on guitar).
Well, Mia's doing it again! The Maybenauts will be playing Covers for Cover II as...
wait for it...
wait for it...
DAVID BOWIE!

Covers for Cover II will be at the absolutely gorgeous brand-new venue Lincoln Hall (which used to be the historic 3 Penny Theater) on Wednesday, December 23rd. Advanced tickets are available here.

New Maybenauts videos - including a new song!
These are from our last show at Lucky Number and filmed by Lenny Jimenez - thanks Lenny!
This is You're Not Aware, an original that will be on our upcoming EP:
This is our 80s girl group medley trainwreck followed up by our original, Girlfight. If you're curious, it goes: She Bop (Cindy Lauper) - We Got the Beat (The Go-Go's) - Walk Like an Egyptian (The Bangles) - I Want Candy (Bow Wow Wow) - Girlfight (The Maybenauts). Holy wow! This psychotic medley has been retired for now... so enjoy it on video!
And last but certainly not least, it's our brand new song, Blue Line. We wrote this one about three weeks ago and this is the first time we'd ever performed it live:
